Building a Network Graph for Duke Community Affairs
I designed an interactive network graph to illustrate the relationships between various entities at Duke University and in the Durham community.

Designing an assessment authoring application for online learning
While working at Pearson I designed an updated version of a web-based application used to author assessments for learners. I designed the interfaces for multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank questions.

Discovery for assessment authoring app at Pearson
During my first four months of working at Pearson I worked on discovery tasks for the software I was supporting: a web-based application used to author assessments for learners.

Case study: article & topic page templates
My team was asked to increase visitor conversion and optimize cross-linking for existing page types that were responsible for a large part of the organic traffic to the website. We looked at web analytics, heat maps, best practice research about reading for understanding, and the role that credibility plays in web content. Using the new templates we achieved a 17% lift in visitor conversions.

Redesigning the corporate contact presence
At Red Hat I worked on a small team to re-imagine and redesign the corporate contact presence. The final project was the outcome of IA work, wireframing, two user research studies, and collaboration with content strategists, design colleagues and many others across the organization who require public-facing contact information.

Wireframing a tool for students
End-of-year testing interfaces for grades 3-12 can require many different tools, some for use on subsets of questions. I worked on wireframing the tools required for all questions without cluttering the interface.

Usability study: mixed reality
In late 2017 I planned, conducted and analyzed the results of a usability study of a facial recognition app built for the Microsoft Hololens, a mixed reality device.

Equation editor: designing for accessibility
I redesigned an equation editor that would be used by students in grades 3-12 during standardized tests. I focused on accessibility and development feasibility.

Online readiness: user flow and visual design
I created a simple user flow for system administrators who need to verify that a group of computers is powerful enough to work with a particular piece of software.

Prototyping a responsive web app
I worked on the user flows, user interface design and visual design for a new responsive web application.

Responsive online banking web applications
I worked at BB&T, now Truist, as a front-end web developer and designer. I had the opportunity to work and lead work on their online banking application, one of the rare apps that I’ve worked on designing and have also used as a customer.
